Sample Submission

Weight Sheet

Please use the appropriate weight sheet for your samples. If you are unsure which template to use please contact the SIELO Technical director (stableisotopes@ucmerced.edu) for guidance.

On Campus Users

On campus users can submit samples for analysis using the SIELO sample submission form. If you have not submitted samples for analysis before you must contact the SIELO (stableisotopes@ucmerced.edu) prior to sample submission.

When you are ready to submit samples please ensure that the following criteria have been met.

  1. Samples have been prepared correctly and include all unknowns and reference materials.
  2. Sample names, weights, and general sample type have been entered into the appropriate sample weigh sheet.
  3. The sample container is clearly labeled with a unique name in the following format (lastname_firstname_project_name_date).

Once samples have been submitted please drop them of in the SIELO. Contact the Technical Director if you are unsure of the proper location. 

Off Campus Users

The SIELO accepts samples for analysis from external users. Please contact the SIELO (stableisotopes@ucmerced.edu) to inquire about sample submission and preparation.

  1. All samples must be discussed with the SIELO director prior to sample submission. Samples submitted without prior approval will be rejected.
  2. Samples that require weighing must be shipped in micro-centrifuge tubes or similar containers. Samples in plastic bags, paper envelopes, or large vials (> 5 mL) will not be accepted.
